The Culture of Peace and the Media: Some Questions and Answers Why Media and a Culture of Peace? Our culture is influenced by media. Music, popular films, video games, books and magazines shape society's values and show examples of how to act in difficult situations. Media that promotes a Culture of Peace needs our support. Everyday, everywhere, people are contributing to building a culture of peace in their personal way providing non-violent solutions to conflicts, doing activities which promote development and the environment, promoting understanding and tolerance in their community, etc. The list is as large as our global community.
